We build field data and compliance software for environmental and NRM work — made in Townsville, tested in the field, built to run without a signal.
See what we're buildingEach product started as a tool built to solve a real field problem, then hardened for daily use offline, in the sun, with one hand free.
Field observation capture — geotagged photos, GPS, compass bearings and notes, exported straight into GIS.
In useGPS and compass waypoint navigation for dense bush terrain, where a blue dot on a map isn't enough.
In useBorehole and DCP logging for geotechnical fieldwork, built for the same offline conditions as the rest of the toolkit.
In developmentA conference companion app for programs, personal schedules, and notes — everything stays on the attendee's device.
Plumed Duck is founded by two PhDs working in environmental science and field ecology, building the software we wished existed on our own projects — first for ourselves, now for other field teams.
Every product is built and tested on real fieldwork before anyone else sees it: creek monitoring in the Burdekin catchment, borehole logging on geotechnical jobs, navigation through bush where GPS accuracy and battery life actually matter.
